HOLIDAY LEAVE
dVthc Editor.)
Sir,— Iviudly allow me a little space to bring under fcJio notice of the Defence authorities what is at the present time, in the military camps, a burning question. - Naturally nearly fall the men wish to get sufficient leave to visit their homes and spend at least one clear day there, viz./ Christmas Day. Now, although three days is sufficient for Wellington, Hawke's Bay, and Taranaki men, it' is hot sufficient for Auckland, Marlborough, Canterbury, and Otago men. There is a very keen desire amongst' these men for at. least four days' leave, say from Thursday afternoon .to Monday evening. This would give them comfortable time, and would be a source of great pleasure to thorn. I would like to put in a special plea, for tlie 11th Reinforcements, who liavo shown-such splendid spirit in .facing the discomforts of camp life just a few days before the great annual, festival, at the urgent call of the country. Tbeyjare i splendid lot of n.en, and I am sure deserve, and would appreciate, the concession I have mentioned.—l am, etc., SOLDIER.
