Herbert Scott-Smith, at the home of the brido. The pastor was assisted by the Rev. James Taylor, the President's pastor. The couple left by speoial train for the Hot Springs, Virginia, where they will spend the honeymoon in motoring, golfing, and walking on- the mountain trails. There were no, bridesmaids, and no best man. Tho Chatham Islands have supplied 16 men for the front, and have subscribed a total of £719 16s. sd. to tho following funds: —Food . for Britain, £186 4s. ' A "Queen of the Island" voting com- ; petition held in connection with the new post office ball was won by Miss Flora Renwick, tho farmers' nominee, with 4865 votes.
