PANAMA EXPOSITION
ANOTHER HIGH AWARD FOR NEW ZEALAND. Mr. A. Macpherson, Fields Instructor, Department of ' Agriculture, lias been advised by Mr: Clifton, the Now Zealand Commissioner, Panama Pacific International Exposition, that the National Jury of Awards liave awarded a gbltl medal of honour to the forage crop silver beet exhibited by him. A plot of silver beet was growu on the SMiibltlim grounds in competition with other forage plants, and attracted considerable attention, both scientists and farmers showing much interest in this new fodder plant. Arrangements have been made with scientists and farmers throughout the United States of America and Canada to thoroughly test this new fodder plant in these countries next season, both as to its feeding value ai;d drought-resisting capabilities.
