Keay) 3 The three starters' got' away' in a good line at the second attempt, but Our Thorpe skipped going out of the straight, and Country Belle took the lead from Tommy C., with Our Thorpe in third place. This was the order lor . the first inile, but with half the journey gone Our Thorpe had drawn up almost level with Country Belle. The latter however, went away at the turn out of the straight, and. opened up a gap of four lengths from Tommy C., who was a couple of lengths in front of Our Thorpe. Along the back stretch, the favourite put in a great , run, and half'a mile from home had caught , fiountry Belle. He quickly had her measure, and though she finished gamely, Our Thorpe won by two lengths. .
