During; the day tliG British and Russian Ministers had an audicnce with the monarch, and assured tho Shah of the presence of Russian troops near Teheran to safeguard the public safety. Finally tho Shah decided to remain, and appointed Aenednowles and Prince Firmanfirma to the Cabinet. Meanwhile, the enemy diplomatists, -with the gendarmerie, awaited the Shah's arrival, hoping ho would accompany the gendarmerie to Ispahan and fight against the Russians. Their chagrin was unbounded on learning how the Allies foiled their plans. Tho majority of the gendarmerie returned to Teheran. . v - !
