On Wednesday the breaking-up of the Johnsonvillo School took the form of a children's bazaar in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' and Sailors' Fund. . The staff and puplln, aided v>y friends, worked energetically, and the Tesult was most gratifying in every way. Mcore Bros.' hall was filled with a display of fancy goods, produce, sweets,, a jumble stall, and Christmas tree. The flower .stall contained a fine collection of blooms. Mr. It. A. Wright, M.P., who'was accompanied by Mrs. Wright, in an i ppropriate Speech declared the bazaar open. A tiny child presented Mrs. AVright with a handsome bouquet of sweet peas. Business was carried on energetically during the afternoon aud evening, the result being that a sum of ,£65 will be handed over to the fund. There was a fair attendance of parents and friends, and the children gave them great pleasure with their littlo songs and recitations. The Rev. A; M. Johnson, M.A., vicar of the parish, presented the prizes.- He thanked the children for the entertainment they had ■ given, and the teachers for . their patience and kindness to the children. He mentioned also that ■ the school was under Government inspection, and this'year's report was very much in advance of any previous one.
