THE SAILORS FRIEND SOCIETY
At the Sailors' Friend Society last night, a Christmas concert'was given by the Y.W.C.A. Club. Carols wore sung by the club, and were much appreciated. A short story competition was entered into with, spirit. During tho evening the club, which was under the guidance of Miss 'Fontaine and Mr. Pope, dispensed seasonable hospitality. The evening ended with a hearty vote of thanks to the performers, which 'was responded to by Miss Fontaine and Mr. Pope. Items were contributed by Misses Andrews, Chapman, Fontaine, and Thomas, Mr: Pope, and Trooper Williams. There -was a fine attendance of seamen at the "Bear a Hand" Club meeting 011 Wednesday, when matters of national importance woro discusscd.
