LIST OF TICKET-HOLDERS. (By TelcEranh.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 15. Tho art union in connection with the Auckland Cup; organised by the Provincial Licensed Victuallers' Association in support of their Queen Carnival candidate, has been drawn. First prize £1000, second £500. Following is a list .of tickot-holders who drew horses:— Cnstalia, il. M'Shcehy, Temuka; Kooya, H. Page, steamer Kia Ora; El Gallo, J. Patterson, Whangarei; Merry Hog, O. Melville, Feilding; Maniaroa, D. Foote, Kamo; Sir Solo, Keith and Valentino, Mercer; Christine, H. Lawson, Auckland; Snub, F. O'Connor, Taumarimui; Jack Delaval, D, Lindsay, Temuka; Blackall, Rainger and Donald; AVarstep, J. Pratt, To Kuiti; Colonel Soult, G. Stanton, Avondale,; ; • Mullingar,.. Mrs. Jeauneaux,' Remuera; Lady Pennryj' J. M'Gregor, -Railway Hotel, Hokitika; Self, Joe Greenwood, Eden Terrace; Balboa, T. Grubb,'Stratford; St. Elm, "Chitritus," Auckland. In the early 'sixties cigarettes wore only smoked (in England) by foreigners or Britons who had acquirbd tho habit while residing abroad. The first English, cigarettes were stained brown, to imitate tho tobacco-leaf, and wore not gummed.
