MAJOR J. E. DUIGAN TO COMMAND (By Telegraph - -i 't—• Auckland, December 12. Major J. E. Duigan, General Staff Officer for Auckland Military Distriot, has been appointed to command the Engineer Tunnelling Corps, which has been mobilised and trained at Avondale Camp. Major Duigan is a New Zealander, and saw activo service in the South African War, where ho was seriously wounded. He has had a successful career as an Engineer officer, and received a course of training at Homo. When war broke out he had just finished his Staff College course at (Juetta, and joined the Main Expedition at Colombo. He had a breakdown in health in Egypt, however, and was ordered out to New Zealand to undertako staff duties.
