This week's Sydney boat—the Moesfiki— left there for Wellington at I p.m. on Thursday with 147 saloon and 87 steerage passengers'on. board, as well as 1041 tonß of cwsro, included in which were 423 cases of fruit.' The Moeraki is due here on Monday morning, and will sail for Lyttelton on Tuesday, returning here in time to leave for Sydney and Hobart at 5 p.m. on Thursday. S.S. Remuera. which arrived from London, via Auckland, yesterday morning, berthed at the King's Wharf • to discharge. On Monday she will proceed on to Lyttelton, thence to Port Chal- . mers, where 6he is due on December 18. From the last-mentioned port the Remuera goes to Napier on December 22, Auckland on December 26, and Wellington December 31. On January 4 departure will bo taken from this port for London. ' MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. When it was announced some. time ego that Captain L. Robinson, of the harbour tug Tcrawhiti, was resigning his position in order to take charge of the Lake Wakatipu ferry service, a subscription was immediately started among the employees in the Union Company's coal department and the tugs. Terawhiti and Ngatone, in order to give their colleague a tangible token of the-esteem he wob held in. At New Plymouth thiß afternoon tho Corinna will commence to take in 6OCO crates of cheese and 10,705 boxes of butter for transhipment to the Mamari for London. . She is due> here on Tuesday -next, and will tail for southern .ports on Thursday. After landing about 800 tons of Greymouth coal- on Monday the Kamona will go on to Lyttelton with the remainder. - Four days were occupied by the Union Company's little steamer Karu on the run between. Wellington and New Plymouth. Hho was severely buffeted by the prevailing, nortli-west winds. The Karu -was scheduled to sail for Wellington last evening, and she will leave here for! Greymouth on Monday. The Hinemoa left the Bluff for West Coast Sounds, Wcstport, Oook Strait light, and Wellington at 4.5 a.m. yesterday. . The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Century is due here about December 27 , from Brisbane for Homowa-rd loading. Her other ports of call will be Napier, Gisborne, Tokomaru Bay, and Auckland. Departure will bo taken from the northern - port for London on January 9. . From Wanganui, for which port the Star of India leaves, to-morrow, she will go on to Waitara, Gisborne,' and Napier. A return visit will be paid to Wellington, and departure taken for Home about tho -first week in January. Leaving hero for Lyttelton on December 15, tho ferry . steamer Maori will not take cargo for the .southern port on acpount of December Id being Anniversary Day in Canterbury. Tho C. and D. liner Nerehana is expected to leave Sydney, in continuation of ,her journey from London to Auckland, on Decomber 16..
