In a shield 1 match played on the Masterton bowling green on Thursday, the Masterton Bowling Club defeated Carterton by two' points in the aggregate, after a keenly-contested game. ' . A dance recital was given in the Masterton Town Hall on Thursday evening by the pupils of Mrs. Kendall, in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund.
