There arrived at Auokland by thb Remu'era from London-on Monday Lieu< tenant Tebberer, of the\3rd Leicestershire Regiment, attached to the 3rd who is making a round-the-w6rld voyage with, his wife. Mr. Tebberer arrived in Franco in.' October, 1914, just in time to miss the big battle on the Aisne. ■ "Mine was Ypres," lie. said, in explanation of injuries and shattered nerves. Lieutenant Tebberer is a soldier of the regular army, his station prior to the. war being Portsmouth. He hopes that his'health, which is improved as a result of tlia voyage, will permit a resumption of military activity on his part when ha returns to England, but it is obviouj that his convalescence after such a trying ordeal must .be very gradual... Mr. and Mrs. Tebberer came on to Wellington by the Main Trunk yesterday. Sergeant-Major G. A. Gibbs, a war* rant officer of the Royal Army Medical Corps, also arrived by the. Remuera. He has come to the Dominion to take a staff position under Surgeon-General Henderson. Sergeant-Major . Gibbs went to France with the first British Expeditionary Force. Ho took part m the retreat from Mohs, which he describes as "a pretty solid trek," and afterwards was in the midst of tha lighting-inthe battlo, of rivers. Tha Borgeant-major has 27 years' service to, liis credit in tho' medical corps. Ha has _ spent a considerable time., '.W Mediterranean : stations, " and , was through the Crete rebellion in' 1897.
