-»• WOODVILLE MEETING SUMMER HANDICAP WON BY IMMER. I (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Woodville, December 9. The second day's racing of the AVoodvillo Summer Meeting was hold in perfect weather. The attendance was again large, and speculation tvas brisker than on tie first day. The sum of 0115,553 passed through the lotalisalor, making .£2!),GGS for the meeting, as against .£21,135 for the corresponding mooting last year. Multiplication and Interlude were most fancied in the Telegraph Hack Handicap, but the pair were beaten out of a place. Interlude practically took charge when tho tapes wero released, and led to the turn, just clear of Lady Black. The latter was in front at the distance, but then Veto came on the-outside and won nicely by a length. Jean Laddo came from a long way back, and got third place, and was followed by Multiplication and Eron. Boy. In the Hack Hurdles Rexer was in front over the first sis furlongs, but she was running about a lot at the fences, and Wirokino took charge at tho six furlongs. Rexer was clear of Cokely and Kauwairoa ■at tho last fence, where Cokely lost his position. Rexer won nicely by tivo lengths from Impostor, who beat Kauwairoa by a neck. Cokely was close up. The Martian mare Marsinah upset all calculations by winning the Ruahine Hack Handicap in good style. The Wellingtonowned mare was a good favourite in the Maiden Handicap yesterday, but she failso? ou ' ; ' probably on account of the going. To-day she jumped io the front at the start and was nover headed. Black Ada appeared to have her measure «t tho distance, hut failed to stay as well as the Martian niaro. Bunting,.who was a good favourite, finished third, just jlear of Hinernanu and Wailand. Waitomo was close up. The big handicap was the finest race of the meeting. At the start Avon Park, Orleans, and Bertrada wero prominent, but passing the six-furlongs post Zeus gamed on Orleans, and tho others took second place. Tho pace was very fast, and round tho bottom bend Tho Summit and Immer win up to the leaders. The latter was first into tho straight, and holding her own, won by a length from Orleans, while Ptirsefiller put in a great U J?°t third place. Avon Park was at the heart of the others, who were bunched. lavistock, who has been racing consistently _ but -with no luck lately, had a turn in the Stewards' Hack Handicap. JTartyres and Eron Boy were prominent at the start, and the former led Tavistock into the straight, but the latter easily ac ®ounted • 0r Cr ' T1 the run home. The Railway Handicap drew five runners which_ was the smallest field of tho meeting W aiorewa, after being tailed off in tho first part, camo through in the jjfcraight, and defeated llushabye and lyson. Avadne was fourth. Ohinewairau (San Fran— Maid of Astolat) was the public fancv in the Scurry, but an outsider in High Jinks, who was bred in Australia, by Cyrus from Tart, won nicely. Ho drew the inside, and had a good position tho whole way. At the distance tho favourite challenged him on the fence, but the New Plymouth horse stuck to his task and wore down his opponent, who also succumbed in the last stride to Braemore. 1 he Baronet, Mahzoltov, and Lady Multifid were next. The winner is owned by Mr. P. C. Davis, who formerly owned De Gama. He picked up the winner cheaply at the Easter sales at Randwick last year. His Eminence, Discussion, and Jem were prominent in the early stages of tho final event, tho High Weight Handicap, .niey remained there to the post, whore Discussion ran through and with Jem following drew half a dozen lengtlis ahead of tho field. The order was tho same to the distance, when Ineuru got up and won comfortably by a baro half longth. Join was close up third. THE RESULTS. TELEGRAPH HACK HANDICAP. Five furlongs. 9 Mr. M.
