MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. ThoWellington City Council met last evening. There were'present: His Worship tho Mayor (Mr. J. P.- Luke), Councillors J. E. Fitzgerald, W. T. Hildreth, R. A. Wright, T. Bush, M. F. Luckio, W. H. Bennett, J. Fuller, L. M'Kcnzie, A. R. Atkinson, J. Hutchcsbn, J. Godber, G. Frost, W. H. P. Barber, and A. Voitch. It was decided .that the Kelburn Croquet Clnb should be informed that their request for tho formation of nc-w croqud courts on the southern'end (unforraedj of Kelburn Park will bo favourably con. sidercd when framing the next year'f estimates. Provision is to be made in next year's estimates to renow the Wadestowii Road fences at an estimated cost of £140; meainvhile the City Engineer is to be instructed to effect temporary repairs to safeguard the council. _ . The Hataitai Electors' Association is to be informed that the council rfcgrets that it cannot undertake the erection of public conveniences in the district atpresent, in view of other very urgent works requiring attention. ' ; The Roseneath Municipal Electors' Association is to be informed that the City Engineer will be instructed to renew tlio fence along The Crescent as snon as men can be spared for the work. The association's request for new fences . along Carlton Gore Road and Roseneath Terraoe was not acceded to. v ==========
