Godber said that at prosent the council's inspectors had not '• enough power, and the committee intended ' waiting on the Minister of Public 5 Health shortly on the subject. The Mayor said that the council should bring pressure on the Government to - select, a site for. a clearing house. If the i Government would only set f.side a site - near the railway ho would recommend the . people to finance a building next year. 5 Matters would never be satisfactory until j the officers were under council super- , vision, and had ample power.
