4 — committee set up to select each year a New Zealand Rhodes scholar will hold its annual meetinc at Government House on Tuesday, December 21. The candidates for tho 1916 selection are; Wellington.— Mr. Athol Hudson (a son of the late Dr. Hudson, of Nelson, and nephew to Messrs. W. B. Hudson and G. V. Hudson, of Wellington). Auckland.—Mr. F. A. Airey, B.A. (son of the late Mr. W. H. Airey, who was an •'nspector of schools for the Auckland district). ' Canterbury.— Mr. Arthur Ponder. Otago—Mr. J. G. Anderson, of Invercargill. Mr. Hudson is away with tlie Bth Reinforcements, and Mr. Ponder is also absent from New Zealand, having left with-Lord Liverpool's Own.
