MAGISTRATES COURT
POLICE CASES. r- . G. Riddle, S.M., presided, at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, ivlieii a small number of offenders were dealt with. Mary Crowe, for drunkenness, was fined 10s., in default 48 hours' imprisonment, and prohibited 011 her own application. John Redmond O'Donoghuo pleaded guilty to the theft of two pairs of trousers, valued at 205., the property of some person unknown, Accused has had thirty convictions against him, mostly for drunkenness. He was fined 205., in default siji'on days' imprisonment, and was prohibited on his own application. O.io first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged. Caesar Wauters, <i middle-aged man, was charged with having indecently assaulted a boy at Petone. Evidence was taken, and accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
