A cable message received by Commission Hodder, head of the Salvation. Army in New Zealand, states that General Booth has .definitely decided to visit the Dominion': next year. The General is expected in July.
Fathers M. Bleakloy, J. 1. Taylor, :T . M'Cormack, and P. Flyrm arrived at Auckland from Plymouth by the Bemuera on Monday. They, have been ordained for service in New Zealand, and will be appointed tp curacies in the Auckland diocese'at an'early date.
The vicar of St. John's Anglican Church, the Rev. E. Fletcher, who volunteered his services for the front some 12 months ago. and again quite recently, has now been advised by the Bishop, of the diocese that his services will be accepted. He stands fifth on .the list of Applicants (says the Auckland "Herald"). Some little time back Sir. Fletcher was offered a commission in the Lancashire Fusiliers, of the voluntary corps of which he was formerly a member, but was unable to accept because the Bishop would not allow his clergy to eo in any oapacity other than as chaplains.

Mrs.' R. J. Seddon has (says a Press Association telegram from Cbristohurch) a cable message from London stating that'-her sou, Mr. John Stuart Seddon, has_ received a commission in tlio Royal Field Artillery. l Mr. Seddon, who- is the youngest; son of the lato Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, left New Zealand with tile . First Contingent for Samoa, and after servinst for some time there he returned to Wellington, and left eight weeks ago for London. ; t Mr. A. . L. 1 Boattie was yesterdaT elected a member of the Napier Borough Council by 534 votes to 186 polled by the •unsuccessful candidate. Mr. Barrie Marschel has rejoined the Now Zealand Picture Supplies. Ltd. Mr. and Mrs. Marschel were passengers for the south by . last evening's ferry.
