Magnificent generosity has beon shown by Mr. P. A. M'Hardy in connection with the War Funds. Besides supporting handsomely the different patriotic funds and giving the war profits of his farm (£1000), lie lias donated to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund a corner section, valued at £3000, in the town of Palmerston North. . This is being'disposed of by art union (tiokets 2s. 6d.), ,and tlio winner can either have the section or 2000 sovereigns. The art union-is being-managed on the most economical lines, and purchasers of tickets are assured by those in charge of tho art union that the wounded will benefit--to. the fullest extent by their contributions to this art union. The public are invited to inspect the books and _ satisfy themselves. Tickets are 'obtainable at tobacconists and booksellers, or E. Grant Sim, Box 229, Palmerston North.
