Sir John French reports: "An air raid was made on Don station. A munitions store was blown up, and several fires were observed at Don. All the aviators returned safely. "The artillery Bombardment of the wiemy's trenches continues. A bomb store was blown up at Iginette. "Mining activity continues on both sides. The weather is very wet and stormy." Amsterdam, December 6. A German communique states; "There has been artillery, mine, and grenade fighting in the west. Two English aeroplanes were shot down at Bapaume, 15 miles south-east of Arras-. The occupants were killed. ALLIES' WAR COUNCIL FIRST MEETING OF NEW BODY. New York, December 6. A Reuter messace from Paris states that the first meeting of the General War Council for the co-ordination of the military operations of the Allies has been held. General Joffre presided. (Rec. December 7, 6.50 p.m.) London, December 6. The first complete Allies' War Council was hold to-dav at Paris, Britain, France, Russia, Serbia. Italy and Belgium being represented, General Joffre, presided. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. (Rec. December 7, 6.50 p.m.) v London, Deoember 6. In. the House of Commonß Mr. Asquith, ill an important announcement, stated that the arrangements for closer military co-operation had been completed as regards Franco, and were under consideration in connection with our other Allies. It would not be m the public interest to announce the details of those arrangements, which might be of value to the enemy,
