YESTERDAY, Prepent indications ore for moderate to strong easterly -winds, backing to northerlies, northward of Hew Plymouth and tTapier, and freshening northcrlies elsewhere, Expect warm and humid conditions, but with -increasing haze and cloudiness, and an unfavourable change and rain following generally. Barometer fall shortly everywhere. High westerly winds and gloomy conditions ruled on Saturday, and heavy rain Jell in the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island.
