It was practically impossible ior the Defonco Department to i supply the necessary list- of the soldiers 'at. the frontj so it was decided to advertise and ■ ask all the wives whoso - husbands o,rt> at the front to send in their. names beforo Friday, either .to .Mrs. M'Vicar, 27 Brougham Street, to Mrs. Grady, Willis Street, or to Mrs. .Chatfield, secretary . of the Victoria League. Prom those wishing to assist tho movement, contributions of cake, money, etc., will be greatlv appreciated. It is hoped to provide a Christmas Tree for the children «nd contributions of toys for that xiiirposc will be most acceptable. It is proposed to hold the party on Saturday week afternoon. It may bo rather startling to many people to learn that after all the months in which the various women's committees have been 'working at the, Town Hall, there is not'suoh a thing as a mirror in their rooms. Many chorished delusions in rogard to the little weaknesses of women are being upset in these topsy-turvv days, and evidently the woman and her looking-glass is one.
