The last "old bird race" was flown from Napier on Saturday by the Hutt Valley Homing Pigeon Society, for Mr. W. Cotton's trophy, each loft being limited, to one bird. , The results were (estimated air-line 361 miles): A. and J. Booth's Craganour, 4hr. 26min. lsec. 1; W. J. Smith's Redfern, 4hr. 27min., 2; Whitehead and Booth's Boomerang, 4hr. 31min. 30sec., 3; W. and L. Booth's Destroyer, 4hr. 32min. 4sec.: E. M'Mahon's Silver Knob, 41ir. 35m'in. 37sec.; England and Hudson's Hum, 41ir. 40min. Following are the leaders for the aggregate pointsWhitehead and Booth, 22; AV. and L. Booth,. 20i; A. and J. Booth, 16J; E. M'Mahon, 13: England and Hudson, 13. The first young bird race will be flown early in February next.
