A FULL DAY OUT

YESTERDAY'S ROUTE MARCH. Yesterday the experiment was tried of having a full day on the route march, and forty-two men, under Lieutenant Partridge, left Boulcott Street corner at half-past* nine for Makara. Passing through Karori at a good pace, the company _ reached the junction of the Johnsonville aind Makara. Beach Roads at 12 o'clock, where a halt was called. After a dip in the stream the members' of the party had lunch, and at, half-past two o'clock. set out on the return to town, which was reached shortly after five. Sunday's march showed that the previous walks had an excellent effect on 'the fitness of 'those taking part, as the march from Ka>ori to Boulcott Street, whore the party dispersed, was accomplished at a solid pace. Next Sunday the march will ocoupy the morning' only. Leaving Boulcott Street at 9.30, the company will proceed through Northlands along the Makara Hills past the wireless station to Wadestown, and back to town. The thanks of the members are due to Mr. .T. J. M'Grath, who provided a tea urn for the lunch, and to Mr. C. W. Tanner, who conveyed impedimenta to Makara. An invitation is extended to all those who would like to take part in the walk to be present next Sunday morning.
