GERMANS RUSH TO BULGARIA
SUDDEN 'CHANGE IN THE ENEMY TACTICS Peace talk by the Germans in which they almost openly admit their anxiety to make terms before the tide of war begins to run "~ against them, and indications of growing tension in the Balkans, bulk largely in the war news to-day. Lengthy reports deal with the fall of Monastir and other of the Balkan , campaign, but chief interest attaches to statements that a considerable part of the Austro-German army has turned east into Bulgaria, which is in imminent expectation of attack by Russia. On the Isonzo front the Italians havo repulsed a . heavy counter-attack by . the Austrians. The Russians are pressing tlio enemy both in the main theatre and j in Armenia, where their advance continues. Fairly full reports are now available of the reverse lately sustained by a British force on the Tigris, near Bagdad. It was compelled to retire down-river for a considerable distance, but the retreat Was made in .gootl order- Heavy, fighting is reported, at the Dardanelles.
