. 1 DEPUTATION TO A MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 3. The Hon. J. A. Hanan, in response to a request by a Friendly Societies' deputation, promised, to bring under the notice of the Minister of Stamps a- request that friendly societies should be exempt from stamp duty on receipts in regard to fees charged by friendly society doctors. The deputation expressed a fear that the Wellington movement for increased fees would extend to Auckland, _ and tho chairman expressed the opinion that tho only solution of the difficulty would be the nationalisation of the medical profession.
Tlie Minister promised to look into the representations.
