Cable advice has been received by tho local office of the Union Company stating that R.M.S. Moana arrived there from Wellington on Wednesday evening. She will leave 1 on the . return trip on December 8, being duo here on December 30. ULIMAROA LEAVES SYDNEY. The local office of Messrs. Huddart, Parker, Ltd., was advised, last evening that tho Ulimaroa cleared Sydney for Wellington direct at 3 p.m; on Thursday. She is duo hero on forenoon with 200 passengers and 1122-tons of cargo. Departure will be taken for Lyttelton on Tuesday next, the vessel returning to Wellington in time jJo Eail for Sydney direct .at 5 p.m., on Thursday. . JACKSON HEAD BEACON. Jackson Head beacon, .which ha« not been showing lately, hfis . been readjusted. Heavy winds were responsible for the pilot being extinguished,, and the harbourmaster at Picton (Captain Holmes) attended to the light. KIA ORA DELAYED UP, NORTH. Advice has been' received by tho head office of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company stating that, on account of having been delayed at Auckland, the Kia Ora will not get away fr.om that port for Napier and Wellington till Tuesday next. She is due hero about December 10 with London cargo. BIOUW AT CAPE TOWN. Private advices have been received in Wellington stating that the A. and A. liner ltiouw, - which was reported.as having a fire in her bunkers, is discharging all her cargo at Cape Town. The vessel left New York for- New Zealand ports on September 21. and was due here about the middle of this month. On inquiry at tho lofcal office of the company yesterday it was reported that no official advice had been received concerning the matter. DALMOBE LEAVES NEWCASTLE. Mr. G. 11. Scales, Ltd., have been advised that their chartered steamer Dalmoro left Newcastle, coal-laden, for Wellington on Thursday morning. She is due here on Wednesday next, and on completion of diecharge' will take the wool-loading berth for London. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. . Captain F. Tellick, of the John, has been appointed master of the barque Antlope, which has .been purchased by a Dunedin firm. ' j Mr. 1\ G. Edge, late of the Tarawera, is to join tho Mokoia as chief officer. Mr. G. W. Evans, late acting-second' officer of the Tarawera, has been appointed to the Marama. - Captain J.- E. Crossland, R.D., R.N.R., of R.M.S. Athenic, has been appointed master of an Atlantic liner. Captain A. Holme has taken charge- of the Athenic. Mr. H. E. Eutter, late chief officer of the Komata, has succeeded Mr. P. B. Peterson as chief of the Wairuna. JlcEsrs. Hyslop and Hugh&n, second and third officers of the Marama respectively, have left that .vessel at Wellington. The New- Zealand Shipping Company's Orari, which left • for Tokomaru Bay on Thursday evening, will visit Gisborne and Napier before coming on to Wellington to fill up for London. She is due here about December 13, and will be, dispatched for London about December 16. ■ . On account of the heavy cargo which had to be handled at Wellington yesterday—3so tons—the Pateena did not get away for Picton and Nelson till 2.10 p.m. She is due back from Nelson direct this evening. ■ - Tho Union steamer Kowhai has been delayed- at Wellington, and will not leave-for Gishorne till Monday; Leaving here for Melbourne at noon today. the Jfokoia will omit tho. usual call at Hobart this trip. After calling at New Plymouth on Tuesday next the Karu will return to Wellington. • The New Zealand Shipping , Company's Ruapehu is due in port from the Bluff on December 8. and will subsequently proceed on to Auckland to complete loading for London. The Scales chartered steamer. Hebburn is at present Joading at Napier for Boston. She will return to Wellington about December 10 for final dispatch. To suit tho convenience of the J. C Williamson Company, the Mararoa'e departure for Ly.ttelton has been postponed till 11.30 p.m. to-day. The Nc;w Zealand Shipping Company's Turakma, which left Auckland on November 11 for London, is reported to have arrived at Monte Video on Wednesday last. Arrangements hove been made for the Tarawera to sail for Lyttelton and Dunedin at noon to-day—one day late
