DISPATCH FROM SIR JOHN FRENCH , FOUR DAYS' SUCCESSFUL BOMBARDMENT The High Commissioner reports:— London, December 2, 9.6 p.m. "Sir John French reports that during the past four days there has heen a successful bombardment _of the enemy's trenches; strong points and gun positions were carried, and considerable damage was done to the enemy, whose artillery reply was weak. "On Tuesday, twenty British aeroplanes bombed 'an important German supply depot at Minuimont, causing considerable damage to stores/buildings, and railway. "Two aeroplanes which were reconnoitring yesterday and to-day have not returned." TENSION IN BELGIUM. By Telograpli—Press Association—OopyTifrht ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Sorvices.) (Bee. December 3, 5.5 p.m.) London, December 2. The "Times" correspondent at Amsterdam states that postal connection with Belgium is difficult. Owing to delays, aud German restrictions on traffic between Belgium and Holland on the ground of communications reaching the enemy's front, passenger traffic is diminishing daily, and passes are sparingly granted. Tension in Belgium is increasing, ancl the German exactions are growing.
