NAPIER NOTES
Tlie last whole day Sunday pnrade was so successful that the Napier branch of the National Reserve intends to hold another on Sunday tveek. The rainfall at Napier last month totalled 3.59 inches. Among the passengers by the mail train yesterday morning were:—Mr, M. Mason, of Hastings, for Palmerstoii North, Dr. and Mrs. Toswill, of Hastings, for Mount Egmont, Sirs. S. Wilson (who has been visiting Hastings) for Wellington, Nurses Leipst and L. Harper, for Wellington, Major Holderness and family, of Hastings, for Christchurch, Mr. B. M. Kessel, of Hastings for AVellington, Mr.'A. G. St. ■Mrs. Rajidall, Miss Davenport, and Mr, Tiffen, of Napier, for Taupo. 'Mr. J. Miller, late of the Napier Harbour Board's staff, left' Tor Patea to take up the position of dredge-master to the Patea Harbour Board. Among the visitors to Napier are:— Mr. ' Van Staveren (Wellington),' Mr O. B. Empriere (Tonga), Miss Richardson (Wairoa) Mr. W. H. Campbell (Gisborne), Mr. and Miss Collins (Sydney), Mrs. , and Miss Callier (Melbourne), Mr, V. H. Whyehouse (Auckland), Mr. and Miss Davies (Christchurch), and Mr. J. W. Linkhorn (Nolson). During November penny sectional fares were charged'on the Napier trams on Sundays, instead'of a through fare of 3d. The result, partly owing to unfavourable weather, was not a success and it is probable that the "old system will be reverted to.
