During the early hours, of this morning three troop trains passed through Wellington en route from May Morn to Rangiotu. They carried the 3rd and 4th Battalions of the Neiv Zealand Rifle Brigade, under Colonel S. V. Sraythe. The troops would reach , their new camping ground shortly after daylight. An advance party ' left . May Morn for Rangiotu "on Monday, so_ that ' the camp would be ready to receive the battalions to-day. The camp at May Morn will be unoccupied for about two weeks. It will then be occupied by the El&venth Reinforcements, which are to go into camp on December 14. While the rifle battalions were camped there, .the Camp Commandant was Colonel S. V. Sniythe. On his departure with the troops yesterday, however, the May Morn Camp was transferred to the control of the Camp Commandant of Trentham (Colonel H. R. Potter), and n will in future be used in conjunction with Trentham. The men of the rifle battalions are to begin their extended leave on December 23, returning about January 3. In accordance with the practice which has been instituted, the Ninth and Tenth Reinforcements will. exchange camps shortly, as the Seventh and Eighth and the Eighth and Ninth did, before the Seventh and . Eighth departed. • This will be begun ou December 16, when the Ninth Infantry will route march across the Rimutakas. Three days will be occupied in the journey, with bivouacs at Kaitoke and- Wallaceville, and a sham fight ( in the form of a night attack at the, latter «)■-»<' '■■■. last night out. It was hoped that the mounteds, artillery, ai;d engineers would also take part in the marcli, when over 2000 men would have been on the road. But these troops will only begin thoir leave on December 10, and will not have returned in time to take part. They will proceed direct to Trentham when they return from their leave. The whole of the Tenth Reinforcements will go to Tauheronikau about December 18. Tlio Ninth will then put in three weeks of advanced training at Trentham, and during that time the Eleventh will remain at May, Morn.
A Gazette Extraordinary, Issued last evening, makes the following additional wal' regulations (a) No person shall bring or send, or cause to bo brought or sent, any intoxicating liquor into a- camp, or liavo any intoxicating liquor in his possession in a camp. (b) Any military oflicor or constable may seize and destroy any intoxicating liquor which ho finds in a camp. (c) The term, "camp" means any land occupied or used, or in course of preparation for occupation or use, as a place for the training or exercise of members of an expeditionary force uudcr tho Expeditionary.
