An important cablegram has been received by the Government from the Higli Commissioner relative to communications with prisoners of war in Turkey:— ' . , "Directions.,fpr communicating 1 with prisoners 'of war in Turkey," says the High .Commissioner, "are that letters, postcards, and parcels should be addressed witnvthe rank, initials, and name of the regiment of British prisoner of war, to the Central Post Office, Constantinople. "Letters must not exceed two sides of sheet notepaper, and contain private and family news only. "Parcels should be very carefully packed and addressed in two places; name and address of sender should be marked outside.' Cannot enclose letters in parcels. Foodstuffs of a perishable nature, newspapers or newspaper cuttings, not allowed. - Remittances can be sent through the Prisoner of War Help Committee, Southampton Street, Strand, London." . ■ The' High Commissioner states, that he has sent further details by post.
