Division; 1300 prisoners were taken. / FANTASTIC FALSEHOOD FROM GERMANY. By Telegraph- Pr«se Association—OoDyTiKht (' Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) London/ November 26. A German wireless message states that in the fighting' against 170,000 British troops the Turks were successful in the neighbourhood of Bagdad a. few weeks ago. The British, assisted by Canadians, Australians, and Indians, after a successful march from Egypt, arrived within ten kilometres (&J miles) of Bagdad, but did not catch the Turkish troops napping. The latter drove the British a distance of forty kilometres ■ (nearly twenty-five miles) from . Bagdad, assuring the safety of the city, . and foiling a gifiantio Allies' campaign, including a Russian march across Persia. The Press Bureau oomments thus on this remarkable message: "Not a single soldier—Canadian, Australian, 'or Indian—ever attempted the amazing march from the Suez Canal to Bagdad. ■
