HUTT PARK COMMITTEE
A special meeting of the Hutt Park Committee was held at Lower Hutt on Thursday to consider the new agreement with the City Council in respect to the Hutt Park Road. There were present : Mr. J. W. M'Ewan (chairman), and Messrs. List, lirocklebank, Hobbs, Hodgins,. and Pilcher. Tho chairman stated that, sorno three years ago an agreement was entered into with tho City Council in respect to this road, which was drawn up and completed. Subsequently, ' in view of certain alterations in the position being made, it became necessary •to enter into a now agreement, under which the Toad would bo straighter, and Clause 4 would read: "That a sufficient supply; of water from tho city main for fire extinguishing purposes,' and for those purposes only, bo granted to the committee by the corporation, and that a, fire-plug be maintained for that purposo." It was finally decided to accept the agreement, and the chairman, Mr. Hodgins. and tho secretary were appointed to sign it on behalf of the coihmitteo. It was decided to empower the Petone delegates to act in regard to grazing tenders.
