DETAINED AT MALTA.

The Maheno which is on 'her way to New Zealand with invalided soldiers, has been delayed at Malta. It was intended said the Minister of Defence at Auckland, that a new staff should be' appointed when the vessel reached NewZealand. He had been-informed that six months' work aboard a hospital sliip would bo sufficient for medical men at one time, and that it was desirable tlicy should have a rest. However, if any member of tho staff desired to continue in the work and mado application accordingly, that application would certainly bo given effect to. Ho was not awaro that any member of tlio staff had been appointed for tho whole time the Maliono was in use as a hospital ship. ■ .
