FOR BELGIAN RELIEF

AN ELTHAM EFFORT. ' The Belgian Sewing Guild, which was inaugurated, by Mrs. H. J. Barnard (five of whoso sous are at the front) at Eltham over a year ago, has sent at various times through, the Belgian Ambassador in London, a laree quantitv of new clothing for tho Belgian children. The lion, secretary of the, Guild (Mrs. L. N._ Fairhall) has now received the following letter:— . "Dear Madam,t-I ljeg to acknowledge with many thanks tho very generous fcift of infants' and children's clothing which you have so kindly sent for tho benefit of the Belgian Fund on behalf of the members of your guild. This splendid contribution is among, the most liberal gifts I have received in aid of my poor little refugees, and I am delighted to be able to distribute these nice outfits. I am sure the dainty garment's will give the greatest pleasure to many poor Belgian mothers, many of' whom are quite destitute and utterly unable to provide their little ones with tho necessary clothing. M»y I ask vou to convey my sincere and heartfelt thanks to your president, Mrs. H. J. Barnard, as well as to all the members of the Belgian Sewing Guild, who have so ably co-operated with her? I am deeply touched with all these practical proofs of real sympathy with my poor compatriots, and cannot thank the kind donors enough for the valuable assistance they have rendered me in my relief work. I would also thank you very much for the pretty dolls which will, I am sure, be post acceptable to desolate littlo Belgian children, who ,hav,o lost not only their toys, but in many instances their homes, and one or other of their parents. With renewed 'hanks for tho many useful gifts,—Yours faithfullv, "(Signed) J. NAVAVX. "Milton Honso. 8 arid 9 Chiswell St,, London, E.G."
