Mr. Asquith has issued a reply to a request for a statement on Lord Haldane's mission to Berlin in 1912. .In January, 1912, tho Prime Minister states, intimation reached tlie .Government from Berlin, informally, that a British Cabinet Minister should visit Borlin, with a, view to a private unoffir oal interchange of opinions, The Gov- 1 ornment, after consideration, approved' of the suggestion, and asked Lord Haldane to go. The Cabinet and tie Foreign' Secretary folly instructed .Lord Haldane, who carried out the mission to the Cabinet's satisfaction. It is not in the public, interest at present to add to what had already been published.
