Mr. Stanton_ has resigned the miners' leadership, disapproving of the local Independent Labour Party's views. Mr. Stanton declared that though ha ■was a Socialist, ho was • a Britisher first. He has decided to oppose Mr. Wiiistono, the Independent Party's selected oandidate.
