FARMERS & THE INCOME TAX
Tho North Canterbury _ Farmers' Union lias passed the following resolution:—"The executive of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union considers the statement for income tax purposes, which has been sent out to farmers, and which has to be returned by December 4, to bo unreasonable in its demands, and a matter of impossibility in its fulfilment in an honest and serious manner, and urges on aocount' of the short notice given that the demands be hold ovor for twelve months; and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Prime Minister, and an-early reply requested." It was further decided that, in tho event of tlio reply being unfavourable, the Prime Minister be asked to attend the conferonc© to be held at Ashburton early next month, when tho matter could bo laid before him.
