Tho Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mamari, under charter to the Now. Zealand. Shipping Co., left Sydney in continuation of her voyage from Montreal to Auckland at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday last. She iB due at the northern port to-day, and will there discharge 11C0 tons of cargo before coming south to put out the balance.
. KWANTO MARU FOR NAPIER. The Japanese tramp . steamer Kwanto Maru, which arrived at Wellington on Tuesday, with 200 tons of superphosphates in bulk from Japan, Bailed for Napier yesterday morning, without putting out all her cargo. White here, as 6tated yesterday, the waterside workers, on -account of the nature of the .cargo, .G6koa" for 2s. 6d. per hour to unload, and 3s. overtime up to 10 p.m. These 'demands, which are' in excess of the ordinary rate, were" conceded to, but Mi. J. E. Taylor, travelling representative with the boat, decided, after an hour'e operations, that the men were not doing enough, &> he. discharged them, and decided to send the boat on to Napier. • ' KU ORA LEFT HOBART. , Advice has been received by' the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that thb Kia Ora left Hobart at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monowai, running a day late, got away for southern ports last niglit. On her trip up next, week she will be a day late, and leaves hercfor Napier, Gisborne and Auckland on .Tuesday, November 30, instead of Monday.
NOTICE TO. MARINERS. The Marino Department advises that the light at Jackson Head is extinguished. The lamp will be relit by the Hinemoa, which saile for southern lighthouses today. .

The Kamo sails this afternoon for Greymouth to load coal for Wellington. The .Kaitangata arrives at- noon, and will get away on Friday fo Westport. The surveying yacht Carnegie is expected to leave - Lyttelton about December 4 for tho purpose of circumnavigating the glohe in 60 degreeß south latitude, thence returning to Auckland, whero sho is due about May next;
Early on- Monday morning the ferry ptcamer . Mararoa was placed in tho graving dock at Lyttelton for cleaning and painting. A large complement of men were engaged on the work,, which was completed in time for the vessel to sail for Wellington the same night. Tho Defender, which .sailed on Tuesday night for Blackball, loads at JJokitika for Wellington, and will be back in about a week's time. ■
The C. and D. liner Star of India is due to arrive at Auckland to-day. She will probably leave on Saturday for southern ports to complete unloading. .. Tho s.B. Wakatu leaves-for Kaikoura and Lyttelton, via the coast, on Saturday, at 4 p.m. . .
The Queen of the South leaves for Foxton at 4 p.m. to-morrow, and the Opawa at midnight, to-morrow for Blenheim. The s.s. Kapiti leaves for Wanganui at 5 p.m. to-day, and the Kapuni at 4 p.m. for Patea.
The Stormbird sails for Wanganui at 5 p.m. to-day.
The Ripple sailed last night for the East Coast, and is expected back about Sunday. Tho Squall is due here on. ftiday from the East Coast, and sails again on Friday.
The Melbourne Steamship Company's old steamer Brisbane, which was a tegular trader between Newcastle and Lyttelton for many years, and occasionally visited Wellington, and which was recently sold to Eastern buyers, is having a run of bad luck. The vessel loaded a cargo at Hongkong, and after discharging at Singapore sailed again for nongkong. When twelvo hours out she collided with the steamer Vivat. bound from Hongkong to Singapore. The Vivat was so badly damaged that sho foundered, but the Brisbane was more fortunate. Her bows were "stove in." otherwise the vessel escaped damage. The Brisbane's course was then altered, and she eventually reached Singapore, where sho is being repaired.
