MR. LLOYD GEORGE AND THE "DAILY MAIL"

On September 10 a Press Association cablegram from London convoyed tie following statement:—"At the Labour Congress, Mr. Lloyd Gecrge (Minister of Munitions) 6aid he wished that the trades unionists would subject the "Daily Mail" to a shattering bombardment, and drop bombs upon, t"ho hard head of Lord Northcliffe. A Press Association message received from London yesterday states that Mr. Lloyd George's remark, a* reported in the London "Times," was: "You had a great debate on Tuesday. You subjected the 'Daily Mail' to a bombardment which shattered it—(laughter) —and you dropped high -explosivo bombs from the clouds on to the hard head of Lord Northcliffe—(renewed laughter)—and if there I 'is anything left of him it simply means another proof that he is somehow or another in confederation with the Evil One." (Laugliter.)
