CARTERTON NEWS

Mr. T. Ray has. been appointed representative in tlie Carterton district for" Messrs. W. & G. Turnhull and Co., in succession to Mr, T. V. Cavorhill, who has- accepted a position as head auctioneer with the Auckland Farmers' Union.

Steady Tain has fallen in the Wairarapa during the past few days, and is boing fully appreciated by the farmers, especially those with late and backward crops. For those orops well forward, however, there is a little too much rain, which is beating them down.. Many potato crops will not fare too well as too mudli rain will tend to stint the undergrowth.
