NOTES FROM NAPIER
(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Napier, November 21.. During the ' past half-year the Napier municipal electricity supply has shown' ma,rkod improvement,. the revenue having increased by £1701; in a similar period the tramways revenue has increased by £300. Tlio following are the latest enlistments at Napier:—T. R. Jamieson, T.' J. Mullah, C. C. M'Dougall, R. Wyko, H. A. Hulford, F. Coup'er, H. G. S. Swain, F. Goldsmith, D. Wilson, and V, H. A. Adams.
It commenced to rain in Napier at 3.'2U p.m. on Saturday, aiid up to the present tho downpour has . continued without a break. The rain is much needed, especially for the roads. Those between Napier and Hastings have been described by visitors as the worst between here and 'Wellington. Napier was crowded with visitors on Saturday, doubtless attracted by tho wool sale. In a side street at noon on Saturday 55 motor-cars were counted. Their number-plates showed that some hailed from Wellington, Auckland, Palmerston North, Wanganui, ChristcKurcli, and plaees fiirtiiei- soxiili. Still hioro ears were to he seen in the main streets, while in front of tho Municipal Theatre,_ where the wool sale was held, it was impossible for two vehicles to pass.
