FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE SOCIEfiT. Amongst the newest ■ big in Hawera is one of the most thriving organisations in the district. Tho concern goes by the lengthy title, ""The Farmers' Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd." It commenced operations on April 1, 1914, and has already built up an extonsive connection. . The society bought out the established business of Gillies and Nalder, who traded as stock auctioneers. To the old business the society has added a grain and- produce department, a machinery department, and a motor-car department. The auctioneering business has been extended by tho opening of a saleyards at Opunake. It is proposed to make a sTuiilar cxteusion at Inglewood very shortly, and the society aspires to in time spread ' ovor the whole of Taranaki. Tho business has increased- largely of late, and.this year even better tWrrgS are looked forward to. The_ subscribed capital has almost doubled since March 31 last.
