Sir John French reports: "Hostile artillery is active east and north-east of Ypros. "A small party of our troops carried out a successful enterprise on the night of November 16-17, just north tho River Douve, south-east of Mossines. They forced an entrance to the enemy's front trench, bayoneted thirty of tho occupants, and returned with the loss of one killed and one wounded, bringing in twelve prisoners." FRENCH OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (Reo. November -20, 0.16 a.m.) Paris, November 19. A French offioial communique states: "We wrecked a' German post_ and entirely silenced the enemy batteries in the Audocliy-Echelle-St. Aurm-Du Cesnier sector." V ; C."S AT LOOS EIGHTEEN AWARDS. Six of those who earned the distinction are dead.
