NAYALS' BOATING SOCIETY
1 :— ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of tho Navals' Boating Society was presided over by 'Hajar W. H. Morton, inere were about twenty members present. The committee, in its annual report, tendered thanliß to Colonel F. J.' Courtney, Colonel J. Duncan, Colonel O. J. Johnston, Major Morton, and Captain J3ell for donations during the year. Thirty-five now members naa joined the society, bringing the membership up to 123. At present tho membership, including thosp who have enlisted for active service, is 109. Nino members, were struck oif as unfinancial, nnd five resigned.. Subscriptions amounting to £19 2s. were outstanding.. Members who had enlisted wore being retained on the list. Theso included four, officers and twonty-four other members. The report was adopted. Officers were elected as follow:— Patron, Colonel O. J. Johnston; president, Colonel J. Duncan; vice-prosi-dents, Colonels .Campbell, Cooper, and Courtney, Majors Hislop, Biss, Menzies, Davy, Morton, and llevan, Captains 8011, Sommerville, Brown, and Oram, Surgeons Shand and Martin, Lieutenants Donniston, M'Kellar, Watson, Johnston, Sloman, Dunne, Hulbert, Meredith, Robert, and Brown, Bandmaster Cimino; club captain, Mr. J. Aloxander (re-elected); deputy, Mr. C. Napier (rc-clcctod); hon. treasurer, Mi'. l'i. E. Judd (re-elected): hon. secretary, Mr. G. A. Ficbig (ro-clccted); conimittco, Messrs. J. Clayden, P. M. Campbell, W. Pritchard, L. Flowers, and G. W. Bruce; social .sub-committee, Messrs. Watson, C. W. Martin, and J. F. Williamson; delogatos to New Zealand Rowing Association, Messrs. J. Calnan, J. Alexander, and C. Napier. Tho opening day was fixed for Saturday. ■
