NEWS AND NOTES. Liout. H. D. Stride has been appointed Assistant-Instructor of Mounted Rifles, at Tauherenikau Camp.

The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at Tauherenikau:—Pte. W. Ray, Headquarters Staff, Q.M. Stores, to be Sergeant-Master-Cook; Pte. R. E. Williams, Headquarters Staff, Q.M. Stores, to be corporal in charge of Forage Stores; Pte. E. F. Hanson, Headquarters Staff, Q.M. Storeßj to bo corporal in Sanitary Policed

Tho undermentioned officers have been posted to the following units and proceeded to Tauherenikau yesterday:— 2nd Lieut. W. Downie-Staurt, to B coy., 9th; 2nd Lieut. T. E. Y. Seddon, to B Coy., 9th; 2nd Liout. C. Barry, to B Coy., 9th; 2nd Lieut. D. T. Herbert, to 0 Coy., 9th; 2nd Lieut. R. H. Quilliam, C Coy., 9th; 2nd Lieut. A. R. Sutherland, to D Coy., 9th; 2nd Lieut. A. Hudson, to F Coy./ 9th.

The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at Trentham: —A Squadron, Reserve, Corpl. S. C. Rod, to be Quar-termaster-Sergeant;
