FIRE AT LYTTELTON
EXTENSIVE LOSSES. By Telegraph—Pross Association. Ghrlstchurch, November 18, A big fire oarly this morning at Lytteltou destroyed tlie New Zealand Shipping Company's wool etore, containing wool presses, other valuable machinery, and 500 bales of wool. Tho flames spread to tho Harbour Board's motor spirit store, wliore 4000 cases wore stored. This was soon a seething mass. Tho damago is estimated at thousands of pounds. The Now Zealand Shipping Company had an insuranco of £3000] on the store and £1000 on tlio maobinery, divided among various offices. Tho company's estimated total loss is £21,000. Tho Harbour Board lost benzine valued at £250, covered by its own insurance.
