Ernest Wellmnn, aged eight years, while playing on die bank of tho Wanganui River at Matnpuna this. morninc, fell in and was drowned. The body was not recovered. Tho river is in high flood. TRAM FATALITY. Christchurch, Nt vember 17. _ Richard Francis Atkinson, aged fiftysix, wlio was run over by a tram-car and was taken to tho hospital, died after an operation. CHILD DROWNED. Our Napier correspondent reports that the three-year-old soil of Mr. and Sirs. Jack Dickson, of Napier, was drowned on Tuesday in tho river at Wairoa.
