PETONE BATHING SHEDS
Complaints having been mado in respect to the habit of disfiguring the walls of bathing sheds at Petone with indecent writing, tho Mayor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan) stated that any information given to tho council would be acted upon immediately, and tho offenders brought to. book.' Mr. M'Ewan also stated that tho ratepayers had spent a lot of money in making the foreshore attractive, and councillors were determined to prevent evil-minded persons from spoiling it. 'When the improvements to, tho beacb were completed a caretaker would be appointed. It has been suggested that a vigilance. committee of bathers might be set up to stop' tho practice, which has unfortunately become common recently.-
