CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON. Tho conference of the Church of England Men's Society was opened yesterday morning at St. Peter's.Schoolroom, Under tho presidency of Bishop Sprott. The report presented by Mr. R. G, Houso . (secretary) referred to the fact that some thousands of members were at present engagod in military service. The balance-sheet' showed a balance .in hand of £26 9s. 4d. During the year tho members contributed £502 towards the foreign mission funds. Mr. J.. Sncll was appointed to represent tho congress at the meeting about to be held to consider ;ho advisability of tho censorship of picture shows. Cordial greetings were so:it to the late diocesan secretary, Mr. C. B. Burdekin, and all brothers now on national service. Tho following members were elected to the Executive Council: —Rov. H. Watson, Rov. J. G. Castle, Rov. W. Fancourt, Messrs R. 8011, G. W. Barltrop, A. M. .Johniion, J. W. Henderson, R.' M. Sunloy, F. J. Carter, J. Snell, W. E. Soutlnvick. W. Nash.
